The Friesblond Young Matured is a mild and creamy cheese. It’s naturally ripened for at least 8 weeks, which is slightly longer than the young version. This gives it a bit more spice, and a stronger, distinct taste. However, it’s still very mild and creamy, and also melts very well. It’s a lovely cheese to eat in cubes, but also perfect as a topping on sandwiches, since it’s very easy to slice.

Ingredients:
Fat 30+, pasteurized cow's milk, rennet, salt, starter culture, vitamins A, B and D

The brand is called Friesblond because of the origin of their cheeses. They are produced in Friesland, which is a Northern province of the Netherlands. The ‘blond’ comes from the fact that they use zero artificial additives and coloring agents. Therefor all of their cheeses have a very light color, which is actually the natural color of cheese.

The flavor of this 100% natural cheese comes from the fact that the cows have an almost unlimited access to fresh grass, dandelions, white and red clovers, etc. It’s naturally ripened on wooden shelfs in the cheese factory, without adding any preservatives. According to Friesblond, that’s all it takes to produce a fine, natural and above all delicious cheese. Above all that, they are 99,9% lactose free, and therefor suitable for the entire family.
